Willard R. Amidon, jeweler and watchmaker, Hartford; business established 
August, 1876; average value of stock and fixtures, $2,000.  Mr. Amidon is a 
native of the town of Hartford; is the son of Elisha and Augustine (Butler) 
Amidon, and was born April 18, 1856; in 1874, he learned the watchmaker’s 
trade, and in August, 1876, opened his present store.
