He was born in the town of Barton, Washingotn Co., Oct. 8, 1854. He learned the trade of a tinner at Holton, Jackson Co., Kan., where he lived about three years; he returned to Washington County in 1874, and established his present business the following year. He makes a specialty, in his trade, of stoves; he also manufactures cheese vats, and does considerable roofing. His wife was Miss Etta Smith; they have two children. Transcribed by Tina Hursh.
