Samuel Anderson

Samuel Anderson, farmer, Sec. 5; P.O. Hartford; has 80 acres; was born in Rome, Oneida Co., N. Y., November, 1817; son of Jacob P. and Catharine Anderson. He was married in 1838 to Miss Betsey Hoard; six children were born to them; the eldest, Eugene M., married Rosine Bertie, and lives in the town of Hartford; Mary died when 5 years of age; Albert was a member of Capt. Bissel's Company, 29th W.V.I., and served in the last war; his death occurred in hospital at Vicksburg, in 1862. Hannah is now Mrs. Charles Amidon, of Clark Co., Wis.; Ellen is the wife of Alden Moffatt, also of Clark Co.; Alvira is Mrs. Andrew Jones; Theresa is the wife of James Mallory, of Trempealeau Co. Mr. Anderson has been a member of the Town Board of Hartford six terms.
